My Obsession with Gone Girl

We all know I very often disagree with America's ratings of popular past times.

50 Shades of Grey Suck.  Downton Abbey.  The Avengers.  The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.  I just didn't find any of these things very special, even though America sure did.

But we finally found a point to agree on.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.  You've already heard of it / read it - I am the very last person to this party thanks to my craziness surrounding not buying books (the line at the library was like 1,000 people long).  I just started it and I am OBSESSED.  Like, seriously obsessed.  Like I don't want to go to work because I just want to listen to it ALL-DAY-LONG.  Like I'm going to be completely anti-social until it's finished, and this book is not short.  The obsession is a problem that's hindering my everyday life activities.

It's like I know what's going to happen but I don't know all at the same time.  WHO DID IT?  WHAT'S HAPPENING?  HOW WILL IT END?  WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH MORE THAN HALF THE BOOK TO GO?  Seriously.  The rest of the book better not let me down or make me regret this post.

So you win this one America.  Just don't tell me how it ends.

I haven't read that book yet, but I will check it out. I have been reading the Stephanie Plum series, but there is like 19 books and I can't read them straight through. :-)

Glad you like it!! A lot of people I know didn't like the ending, but I thought it matched the characters perfectly and it was really the only way for it to end. I won't say anything more than that!

Oh, and since I can't drink our favorite beer this year, I'm putting the pressure on you to drink a lot of it. OK?

Are you exaggerating?? I'm number 66, and they have 27 copies, so I'm hopeful. I guess there are some nice things about living in Tacoma, though at times it's hard for me to remember!

Not exaggerating - I just checked again. I'm down to #920 on 150 copies, but I've been on the waiting list since August........ That's what I get for living in a city with such a high literacy rate.

I had to mostly skim this because I was too afraid you'd give something away! I got on the waiting list at my library yesterday...and I think I'm 66th, but I'm hopeful since they have 27 copies. Is Lindsay exaggerating? Goodness!

No she's not, I was 900th or something when I signed up for it!
Goodness! Do you have to do King County Library? I wonder if there are other options for you...like I can do Pierce County OR Tacoma Public Libraries. I felt like being #66 was bad, but I guess not. I'm still waiting for "Wild" as well (#37), but Oryx and Crake is already on its way...both the CDs and the book!
