I Registered for the Disney Princess Half Marathon!

February 26, 2012, Orlando-ites LOOK OUT!  This girl and I are taking Disney World by storm.

Leandrea first invited me to participate in this race WAY back in June, and while I was intrigued, I wasn't sure I could make it happen.  Plus, I like to wait to do things until the last minute.  Not the VERY last minute, that's called procrastination, just until ALMOST the last minute, that's smart.  Especially in saving money on race registration and airfare.  Right?  
Who is your favorite princess?  I'm definitely partial to Ariel.  I watched that movie 10,000 times when I was little.   But now I'm obsessed with Once Upon a Time so I'm also partial to Snow White.  Partial is a weird word.
During a particularly fabulous run a few weeks ago that I even called a WIN, I decided I REALLY wanted to do this race.  Although it was expensive, you only live once.  Plus there were some major major pros associated with it: 1) Running through Disney World.  Enough said.  2) Didn't I already mention taking Orlando by storm with Leandrea?  3) Visiting my lovely Mom for a few days and enjoying some beach and biking shenanigans (though she's probably mad she hasn't gotten an "Ode to My Mom" post yet!).  4) It's FLORIDA.  Hello sun and warm temps.  So after some begging my WONDERFUL husband JMan agreed (isn't he the BEST?! I think so).  So I REGISTERED!

Now the biggest question of all is - WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR!?!?!  Confession: I actually don't love princesses or the idea of dressing up like a princess.  I've never been a girly girl, though I will certainly suck it up for an occasion such as this.  I found a few costumes that look interesting, including these Team Sparkle skirt costumes from according-to-kelly.

What do you guys think?  I take costumes VERY seriously and am currently on a streak of ONLY wearing costumes during races.  3 races in a row I have worn costumes, so I need a GOOD ONE! :-)  HELP ME PLEASE!!

    I love Ariel too! I think this is going to be amazing....even though I'd choose a lot of those characters over the incredibles....I can't help but think in a costume like that you'd be faster ;) I'd pick the incredibles!!!!

    Pirate Princesses? If adult costumes weren't so scandalous then maybe I could imagine pouring myself in to one. I may need some convincing!

    Oh, I like Princess Jasmine! I also really like Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Such a good movie! I like the Minnie Mouse costumes -- I bet there'll be a million of them, though. What about Daisy Duck? LOL! I agree with Leandrea...some of the adult costumes are skimpy. Running clothes, I guess, can be skimpy, though. What about Captain Hook?! Hmmm...might be dangerous. Hehehe! So much fun; wish I was running at Disney! (Technically, none of these except Jasmine are princesses, though.)

      Thanks for tagging me! I love Princess Jasmine except then I think you're supposed to show your belly. My belly isn't in show-form right now! :-) Daisy Duck is a REALLY good idea, as is Captain Hook! I WANT TO RUN WITH A HOOK FOR A HAND!

      I'LL DO IT WITH YOU!!!! Jordanne was going to do it but now she can't so she is dying to do it next year too. LET'S PLAN IT! There's also a Tinkerbell Half at Disney Land!

    Love these costumes! I'm telling you these are AWESOME!! In case you are still confuse on what to wear, you might want to check out these adult costumes. I highly recommend them!
