Weekly "Rap-Up": Spice Girls Style

It's been a LONG TIME since my last "rap-up" post!  Did you miss them?  I bet you did.  Did the Spice Girls rap?  Perhaps not?  But they are still awesome.

My junior year of high school my friends and I were the Spice Girls for Halloween.  I really really wish I had a picture to show you but unfortunately I don't think one exists (luckily for me!).

Let's see how I did workout-wise this week, maybe I'll live up to Sporty Spice's standards?

Monday -  3 miles on the beach with Cooper.  Although the scenery was LOVELY my legs were just not feeling it and I cut it shorter than I would have liked.

See - scenery = gorgeous.  Legs still = heavy though.

While I was running I saw this interesting dude walking on the beach with his 10 pound dumbbells.  Who does that?!?!  He was doing all kinds of curls and flies and other nonsense.  ON THE BEACH.

Tuesday - Uh, nothing.  Apparently my motivation since the marathon remains waned. I better snap out of it quick.

Wednesday - 6.2 miles at the 1st Annual 4th of July 10k Fun Run!

Remember these lovely ladies?  Yeah, that was fun.  Let's do it again SOON.

Thursday - Um?  I am embarrassed to say nothing again.  I SUCK.  It pains me to write this and I have to remember this pain this week when the couch calls to me when I know I need to get my butt in the pool or on the bike.

Friday - 6 miles in the morning + 2 more after work.  It was HOT and I was struggling.  Ragnar and Hood to Coast are going to be TOUGH with those midday runs.

Saturday - 4 miles walking with Cooper

Sunday - 15 miles biking, 1 mile walking with the blogger banana ladies (more to come on that later!), 1.5 miles walking with JMan and Cooper

We're clearly working very hard.

So that's a rap!  17 miles running this week, but no weekend run at ALL which is sad.  I really meant to but it was just HOT and I didn't want to get up early.  Those are lame excuses, I know.  I didn't swim either, and that's not good either.

I'll leave you with this little gem to get you through your week (you don't even know how hard it was to pick which two songs I was going to put up!):

Anyone else secretly love the Spice Girls?  What's your favorite Spice Girl song?  How was your week workout wise?

Nice week! I haven't run at all since the half in Seattle, so you are a step (or a few thousand) ahead of me!

Love the Spice Girls. I'd be lying if I said I don't still love "2 Become 1". That song is so kind of dirty, but in a innocent way, so it's okay.

Hilarious that you were the Spice Girls! I was never that into them, but I had friends that were. :-)

I never really liked the Spice Girls, but I did see the movie since we were at a dollar theater in Florida and it was one of the only decent movies playing!

Looks like you had a great week considering the heat!

Like Megan, I'm a fan of 2 Become 1; I also like Stop...and there was another one that I really liked but can't remember. In the video they're in a desert...hmm, I may have to google it.

Wanna run the Edmonds half in September??

Love the Spice Girls!
Since I ran at 5am (OMG) this morning, I came home and had some time to kill. Did you know that MTV still shows videos sometimes? And they had a retro video from TLC. Who knew?

Chevalier would leave me for Posh. I'm more of a Ginger girl, myself.

Spice up your life!

haha...love it! So, my freshman year of college, my friends and I were Spice Girls for Halloween. Unfortunately pictures do exist (but thankfully only in hard copy form...no digitals!) I was baby spice and I recently saw the picture and realized that my "tube top" top was about the same size as my itty bitty skirt! Yikes!

THAT'S SO AWESOME! I'm actually pretty sure pictures do exist of us as well, but I think they may be long lost. Thank goodness digital cameras hadn't been invented yet! ha! Pretty sure I wore a tube top as well.
Love, love, love the Spice Girls! I really want to see the new musical based on them. My workouts have severely lacked lately. I blame work.

MUSICAL???!!!! What is this you speak of? I must see that!
Right? Unfortunately I think its only playing in London, or will be playing in London when it opens. (Except, what a good excuse to visit London!)
I loved Sporty Spice!!!! The tomboy in me worshiped her. But now looking back on it, I think Posh was definitely the coveted one to be.

Since I AM a spice girl, I love the inclusion. Did you hear they are getting back together for something? Not like back BACK together but I think there is a Broadway play or something...
Good job on the mileage. This heat has been tough. I know its like not that bad compared to the rest of the country...but for US! its rough!

That's what someone just said! A MUSICAL!!! I MUST SEE IT!!! But it might only be in London? LETS GO THERE!
Well, I have the Spice Girls stuck in my head now. Thanks, friend.

I was totally Sporty Spice when I was younger. One of my friends wanted to be Posh Spice and she would wear super high heels but she couldn't walk in them. Classy ladies, we were.
