I LOVE Nuun. This remains completely 100% true. People love it for different reasons, however. Like, for example, did you know that drinking Nuun is environmentally friendly? It saves tons of water bottle waste from entering landfills each year! But that's not one of my top reasons. Sorry environment. Here are my 3 big reasons for adoring Nuun:
1) It's EASY. It is hands-down the most convenient electrolyte-enhanced drink out there. You don't have to worry about buying tons at the store and toting them around. All you need is the little tube, and then that mixes with water you get from ANYWHERE (like from your own tap at home, from your work's bathroom, from the sketchy drinking fountain at the park you run at, etc.). It doesn't get much more convenient than that.
On my 22 miler I carried an extra tab of Nuun in a Ziploc bag so I could fill 'er up on the go!
2) This is probably more like a bullet point of #1 - but YOU CAN BRING IT ON A PLANE. Yep, since the FFA regulations tightened in 2006, Nuun because the #1 easiest method of drinking electrolytes while traveling (like when traveling to a Disney Princess Half Marathon in Orlando, for instance!).
3) It doesn't have sugar. I love sugar, this we know. However, I know it's bad for me, and I do try to limit my intake as much as is humanly possible without feeling like life is no longer worth living. And as for fake sugar, I get enough of that as well. Remember my obsession with creamer? I get my daily allotted number of chemicals through that, thank you very much. So the fact that Nuun doesn't have sugar or fake sugar chemicals makes me very, very happy, and makes me feel less guilty for either a) consuming extra, not-worth-it calories, or b) consuming extra, not-worth-it, fake sugar chemicals.
My favorite flavors include Tropical (which wins by a landslide), Banana, Citrus, and Strawberry Lemonade.
