Seattle RnR Marathon Training Week #13

Well folks, it's here.  It's finally here.  The very last week of marathon training - which pretty much means do nothing.  And I am TERRIFIED to say the least.  Commence complete freak out that will last all week.

So - how did I do this week?

Monday - A lovely 7.14 mile run with Leandrea.  That lovely run seems so far away now!

Tuesday - I don't think I did anything?  I think I entered data instead.

Wednesday - A not so great 3 mile run - quit as soon as I deemed reasonable (at 3 apparently).

Thursday - 2,500 yards of swimming in 53 minutes + 75 minutes of tennis (doubles so not much of a workout).

But probably not really.

Friday - A loonnngggg nearly 2 hour tennis match (singles) which I sadly LOST.  My first loss of the season had to be during the play-offs when the team was counting on me.  I'm the worst.

Saturday - A big fat NOTHING.  Intended to run but after not getting home from the tennis match until 2am and sleeping in and it being HOT I decided to just enter data instead.  Story of my life.

Sunday - 8 miles in 1:15:45.  It was so HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT.  Sweat was pouring off my face and I wanted to quit at mile 2.  And this is after changing my run from Saturday to Sunday to reduce the heat.  I live in Seattle, so I'm a baby.

Total running miles = 18.  I only swam once and didn't bike at all.  Oops.

Who knows what Saturday will bring?  Will I wake to a stars-aligned magical day?  Will I feel horrible and swear off marathons for the 3rd and final time?  Will it be blazing hot and leave me sweltering?  Or will the current weather predictions of 63 and overcast hold and make me a lucky gal?  We shall see.  We shall see.  But I will be stalking the weather 5 times a day like a crazy person until Saturday, that's for sure.

Who's running Seattle Rock n Roll?  Do I finally get to meet you at one of the various meet-ups?  What corral are you in?

I'll be there cheering at the Nuun headquarters!!!
I am at the back of the bus. I think I am in 38.
Glad I'm not the only person stalking the weather more than once a day. And the day before the race I'll be stalking the hour by hour forecast too. I'm just hoping the rain stays away. But I would take the rain over the heat.

I'm starting in corral 17 (orignally corral 10 but I start with a running group and we all start togther) What corral are you in?
I'll be at the blogger meet ups this weekend so can't wait to meet you!
It's not your impending doom. I know you'll be great. A marathon finish is always a huge accomplishment. Go out there and have fun and just see what happens. You're more prepared than you think. Promise. Can't wait to cheer you on!

Sending good weather thoughts your way! (and to clarify not weather from Florida - that would be cruel)

Can't wait for the fun meet ups this week! You are going to do amazing- your training has been really good! I am in corral 7. Oh, and I switched my run last week from Friday to Saturday because of the sun, and ended up a big sweaty mess with a sunburn on Saturday even though it was overcast and muggy. Lets hope the weather behaves for Saturday!!

I didn't realize that you played tennis too! Very cool. I love tennis, I am just not very coordinated. Hence, I super suck at it!

I hope I get to meet you on Friday! I know that you will do awesome on Saturday- the stars will be aligned for a great race and FANTASTIC weather.

Nicole!! Good job on your last week of marathon training! I am sooo stoked to be coming to Seattle to meet up with and run with so many freaking awesome people, like you! I'll be staying with Julie (tri girl), and as her hostage, I will do whatever she tells me we are doing, which I think includes some blogger meet up action, lunch and dinner on friday, and more through the weekend. Have a great week, and see you soon!

I ran on Sunday too and was *not* prepared for the weather-hello sunburn. I ran between 11 and 1, and can't imagine it will be that kind of temperature at 7am, so we should be fine on that front!

See you Friday!! (With Adrian in tow :P )
