Happy Engagement-Versary!

Six long years ago (February 11, 2006) JMan made the biggest mistake of his life and asked me to marry him.  :-)

We met on our dominant college tennis team.  Here's us modeling our trophies after two respective conference wins!  Aren't my platform sandals amazingly stylish?
We were living in Las Vegas at the time (how I miss that blue sky and sunshine!) and had gone to see Hairspray (the musical, not the movie) with our good friends Brian and Leandrea.  I love shows (JMan tolerates them, sometimes I think he likes them) and Vegas was a GREAT place to live to get to see them!  There were often "locals" specials and a few times even teacher discounts (a few teachers and I once even got tickets to the Blue Man Group for free!) so we saw Avenue Q twice (that's the BEST, you must see it if you haven't), The Producers, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Blue Man Group, 'O' (Cirque du Soleil), The Lion King (or did I see that in Seattle? I forget), and probably a few more I can't remember because I have a terrible memory.  Seen in Seattle, not Vegas, but I still must say that Wicked is my absolute favorite show of all time (you're gonna be pop-u-lar!).  Wow, that was quite a tangent about my love for Broadway shows.

Anyway, after we saw Hairspray, JMan was acting kind of strange and saying he wanted to play poker at the Bellagio (playing poker = not strange; playing poker at the most expensive casino on the strip = very strange) so we parted from our friends and walked down there.  We went inside and he decided it was too expensive to play (and I was like OF COURSE IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE TO PLAY YOU IDIOT!) so we headed out to watch the Bellagio fountains, which are probably hands-down my favorite thing in Las Vegas.  As the fountain started dancing and the music started playing JMan got down on one knee and said a bunch of beautiful things I can't remember and asked me to marry him.

JMan is a fabulous husband and I'm so glad he finally proposed!  I was shocked and ecstatic to find that they have this on YouTube: the exact song that was playing during the proposal!  "All That Jazz" from "Chicago" (and THAT'S how we get the tie in about my random spout about how I love musicals!).

And we got married and lived happily ever after!  Shocking, right?  I bet you didn't see that coming.  You'll have to wait until July 1 for that story.

HAPPY ENGAGEMENT-VERSARY JMAN!
Hope you still don't regret it.  :-)

Hope you're all enjoying your Saturday!  What fun things are you doing?
